Libraries Southwest exists to promote and enhance libraries and library services in Southwest Louisiana.

Services:

List Serve
- Anyone can subscribe: If you have more than one email account, make sure you are in the email account where you want to receive messages from Libraries SouthWest.
- Send an email to majordomo@beau.lib.la.us
- Subject does not matter, you can leave it blank
- On the top line of the body of the email, type: subscribe lsw
- Send the message
- You should get two responses back in a short period of time. One asks you to return a code confirming that you really want to be on the list. Reply to it choosing to include the message in your reply. You can trim out everything except the line that looks something like this: > auth 1bc1433 subscribe lsw yourhandle@youraddy.lib.la.us
  Take the ">" off the front of the line and send the mail
- Save the other message as it tells you how to get off the list or change to another address, etc.
After you have subscribed, you can send mail to everyone by mailing to lsw@beau.lib.la.us. Please use a subject line that tells what the message is about.

Recriprocal borrower's agreement allowing card holders from any member public library to use the services of any other member public library.

Regional special collection development encouraging each member library to develop one or more special interest collections. This allows residents of the region to have access to a larger collection of material than any one library system can afford to purchase. Currently, the list of special collections include:

Beauregard Parish Library - Resources For Grant Writing
Calcasieu Parish Library - Genealogy
Frazier Memorial Library - Archival collection of historical documents reflecting the history, growth, and development of McNeese, Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana.
Vernon Parish Library - Federal Documents
