The Bachelor Girl's Guide to Murder by Rachel McMillan
The Bachelor Girl's Guide to Murder is a recently published (2016) book by new author Rachel McMillan. It is the first book published in the Herringford & Watts Mysteries. Ms. McMillan also has 2 e-book only novellas which are also Herringford & Watts Mysteries.
It is about 1910 Toronto, the age when most bachelor girls are finding husbands. But Merinda Herringford and Jem Watts do not follow the crowd. They launch their own private detective business. The ladies sneak around and don disguises while searching for answers.
I really enjoyed this book and the sequel. They include a little history, a little humor, a little suspense, a little mystery, a little romance, and faith. If you lke something that's not dark or heavy and reads rather quickly, you will enjoy the Herringford & Watts Mysteries. The library has book 1 & 2 of this series. I have requested book 3.
If The Bachelor Girl's Guide to Murder interests you, feel free to request or check it out. We'll be back next Thursday with a different Staff Pick.
