The author is Good Morning America’s health and wellness editor as well as a bestselling author. This book is part of his mission to help Americans live healthier lives. He shows that sugar is the main reason so many people are overweight and unhealthy. He says that sugar is added to almost everything we eat, including foods marketed as “healthy”. He shows how it is possible to eliminate this sugar without depriving ourselves of the food we love. If we do this, he says we can lose weight and regain our health.
The Superfood Swap: the 4-week plan to eat what you crave without the C.R.A.P. by Dawn Jackson Blatner, R.D.N. with Cindy Kuzma. This author is a nutritionist who has helped people change their unhealthy eating habits and improve their lives. She says the key is not depriving yourself of foods you love, but exchanging fake foods which she refers to as C.R.A.P. (foods filled with Chemicals, Refined sugar and flour, Artificial sweeteners, and Preservatives) for wholesome, high-quality superfoods. She shows which foods to avoid and which to eat. She explains how to correctly read labels to spot healthy impostors. Included are many delicious recipes, each with a complete nutrition analysis. This 4 week program was featured on the ABC show “My Diet is Better Than Yours” and beat all the other plans.

According to the author, sugar causes all sorts of problems including low energy levels, mood swings and weight gain. She shows how it is possible to remove this toxin from our diets in order to cleanse and purify the body. We can achieve a balanced relationship with food so that sugar will no longer have power over our choices. There are delicious, sugar-free recipes to use in the three week plan that will unable us to keep sugar out of our lives permanently.
