This January Beauregard Parish Library is happy to bring you computer classes to start your year off right.

Your New Thing: Did you get a new device over the holiday season? Not sure how to use it? We can help! This class is for those who need a little boost in confidence using their new electronics. Join us for a one hour session of tips on using your new device. Topics will include tablets vs smartphones, Android vs Apple, Wifi vs Cell Data, App Stores, App Types,and safety.

Your New Thing will be offered twice. The first session is January 12 at 6:00 pm in the Rotary Meeting Room at DeRidder branch. The repeat class will be offered January 14 at 11:00 am, also in the Rotary Meeting Room at DeRidder branch.

Computers and Coffee: Enjoy a cup of coffee and learn the basics of computer usage. Topics covered will include

  1. Turn on
  2. Basic Components: Mouse, keyboard, monitor
  3. Windows vs. Mac
  4. Browser vs. The Internet
  5. E-mail vs. Webmail
  6. Word Processor, Spreadsheet, etc.

Computers and Coffee will be offered two times. The first session will be at Merryville branch in conjunction with Merryville Coffee Club on Friday, January 13 at 10:00 am. The second session will be at DeRidder branch on Tuesday, January 17 at 11:00 am.
