Need a suggestion for something to read or watch from the library this weekend? Maybe you'd like to check out an ebook or audiobook? Try some of our Staff Picks, to find what some of the other people in our parish are enjoying.

We know that not every staff pick will appeal to every patron, but not to worry! If you need help selecting something, we have online tools like Book Browse and our Online Catalog, or you can ask one of our friendly staff members to help search for you.

The National Enquirer [Digital Magazine]

The library has over 50 digital magazines available through our Zinio subscription. One of my favorite finds is the National Enquirer. Yes, I know, it's not a serious magazine, but that's the point! This magazine is for those who enjoy a little irreverent fun, and using our free digital edition will help save you money over buying print copies.

When I was growing up, my grandmother used to buy the National Enquirer, and I loved looking through it whenever I was with her. I never bought the magazine myself, but I always enjoyed reading the absurd stories. Now that the library has a subscription to it, I can enjoy the same fun.

I think this digital magazine is perfect for those who don't mind pulp entertainment with stories that may only be the slightest bit true. You do need an internet connection to check it out and a device (laptop, tablet, telephone) to view it. There are free mobile apps for both Android and Apple products. The best part is that all magazines are available all the time for everyone, so you never have to wait for any current or previous issues.

If the National Enquirer interests you, feel free to check it out or find other magazines you like via Zinio magazines. We'll be back next Thursday with a different Staff Pick.
