Free Doris Day music at Freegal

In honor of Doris Day’s 92nd April birthday we would like to highlight her music. Doris Day started out as a dancer but after a terrible injury she focused solely on singing. She sang with Big Bands and in movies and even had her own TV sitcom called The Doris Day Show. Freegal, the free and legal music service provided by the Beauregard Parish Library has much of her music. Try music from her early years like “It’s Magic” and “Sentimental Journey”. Or perhaps you would like her Broadway songs or even her children’s album from 1964: With A Smile and A Song with songs like “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah” and “Do-Re-Mi”. Freegal even has a few Christmas albums including The Doris Day Christmas Album and Personal Christmas Collection. Freegal also has a later recording My Heart released in 2011 with songs “Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries” and “You are so Beautiful”.

Or try the below tunes from her many famous movies:

❀“I’m Not At All In Love” from The Pajama Game

❀“Pillow Talk” from Pillow Talk

❀“It Happened to Jane” from It Happened to Jane

❀“Julie” from the thriller movie Julie

❀“Que Sera, Sera” from The Glass Bottom Boat

❀“Love Me or Leave Me” from Love Me or Leave Me

❀“Secret Love” from Calamity Jane

❀“Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” from Please Don’t Eat the Daisies

The library has all of the above movies and many others including her 1975 TV variety show special Doris Day Today which features her singing and doing skits with the folk singer John Denver and the famous impersonator Rich Little.
