The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook by Rosanna Pansino

This fun-fulled book from Internet cooking show host Rosanna Pasino is full of recipes and ideas that are great for parties. The author shows you pictures of all utensils and all the candies needed for recipes. She also includes plenty of step by step pictures that make it easy to follow the written directions and big colorful pictures of the end result.

Example Recipes:

  • Cupcakes: “Loch Ness Cupcakes” in which you can build your own monster rising from the ocean using some fondant (recipe included), a couple of cupcakes, and some toothpicks. Another recipe includes beautiful glittering crystal-like “Geode Candy Cupcakes”. Or tiny “Cheeseburger Cupcakes” with frosting “cheese” and “ketchup”, white sprinkle “sesame seeds”, a brownie “patty”, and dyed green coconut “lettuce” on a cupcake “bun”.
  • Cookies: There are plenty of fun cookies to choose from such as multicolored rainbow “Unicorn Poop Cookies”-yes that really is the title of these pretty cookies made from cream cheese sugar cookies.
There are also adorable “Awkward Penguin Cookies” based on the meme character on the Internet. The author shows you how to roll up two different colors of sugar cookie dough together and slice them, then pipe on their faces.
And for the computer geek in your life there are binary “Color Code Cookies”: each a different color with the color spelled out in binary code right on the top of the cookie.
  • Cakes: Also for the tech savvy computer person in your life there is a computer “Motherboard Cake” with complete instructions how to turn cake, frosting and some candies into a big green motherboard. For the science buff there is the planet “Earth Cake” complete with blue ocean, the continents, and the inner cores of the Earth. But maybe you want something completely different. How about a “Zombie Brain Cake”? It is gross enough to please any child or child-like adult and surprisingly easy to make.
  • Cake Pops: “UFO Cake Pops”, “Cauldron Cake Pops”, and “Robot Brownie Pops”

I just love thumbing through this cookbook just to look at the attractive pictures! It’s so fun and well photographed that you can just imagine yourself making every one of these recipes easily.
