From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E. L. Konigsburg
One of my favorite childhood reads is by E. L. Konigsburg. It's called From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. The author takes two children on the adventure of a lifetime. Doing something I believe everyone may have fantasized about at one point in their life. Spending the night, or several in their case, in a museum!
It was written for readers in grade levels 4-8, but I recommend it for adults as well as younger children. You could read it a chapter at a time as a bedtime story for your younger children.
This book is a mystery filled with lots of imagination and adventure. If I were to tell you my favorite part I would give away the entire story. I will say that after reading this book I've never visited a museum with the same boring mindset that I'm just there to view the artwork. I have imagined what it would be like if someone were to be secretly sleeping there night after night.
This book is an excellent read for people of all ages. Boys as well as girls, women & men. If you've never read it before, you can request it ,and we will call, or email you depending on your preference, when it is ready for you to pick up! Enjoy the adventure!
If this book interests you, feel free to request and check it out. We'll be back next Wednesday with a different Staff Pick.
