Now that school is back in session we have received quite a few questions about Accelerated Reader books. Many of our school aged patrons will be required to read a certain number of AR books throughout the school year, so we wanted to share a valuable resource for finding AR titles and the points assigned to each book.

AR BookFinder is a website that was designed to be a one stop source for finding information about AR books. This site allows you to do a quick search for a title, author, or series and then see how many points each book will be worth to read. Students can rate a book after taking a Reading Practice Quiz on the website and others will be able to see how well the book was rated. Another helpful feature of this website is the AR BookBag, which allows you to save books titles and access them again at a later time.

Another option is to use the Advanced Search and filter your search by interest level, type of book (fiction or nonfiction), language, or topic. This is a great tool to use if your child doesn’t have a specific book in mind, but has a subject they are interested in or a certain reading level they would like to stick with. Happy reading!
