The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks
The story begins with the life of an elderly man that has just had a car accident. He is pinned in the car at the steering wheel with minor injuries and can't get out. His life flashes before him as he is in and out of consciousness. He carries on conversations with his deceased wife, remembering, together, how they met and grew to love and cherish each other through the years.
A few miles away at a rodeo arena, on a 'get-away' trip, a college girl is introduced to a totally different lifestyle than her own. She meets an honest, true life, gorgeous cowboy with a passion for bullriding and a love for family and its traditions. In spite of their different upbringing and indivdual problems, they date and fall crazy in love.
The lives of these two couples come together in an unexpected and unconventional happening and change the future of the young couple in a miraculous legacy of love and fortune.
I think this story is a very good read because I love a 'rags to riches' kind of tale. Also, the romance and mystery thats inside left me satisfied in a way that only a great book can.
