The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt

As a library clerk and a mom, I loved this book and recommend it highly. It is about a little boy named Duncan who gets letters of complaint, concerns and feelings of neglect from his box of crayons who have decided to quit.

The story creates a colorful solution to a crayon-based crisis in this playful, imaginative story that will have children laughing.

Without spoiling the story let me just say this book has it all. It's hysterically funny, kid friendly and leaves parents who are helping their children learn to read more amused than even the kiddos.

It won the 2013 Readers Choice Award on Goodreads and is still as funny in 2015.

If The Day the Crayons Quit interests you, feel free to request and check it out. We'll be back next Wednesday with a different Staff Pick.
