With Staff Picks, we would like to offer recommendations from our staff to you. These picks will be from a variety of reading, listening or viewing tastes. You might find stuff you've checked out before, or you might be intrigued enough to find a new favorite. This time our staff pick is a digital magazine that we have available through Zinio
Cook's Country [digital magazine]
Cook's Country is a magazine put out by the people behind the PBS show America's Test Kitchen. This magazine not only tells you the complete ingredients in a recipe but why the ingredients are there and why you mix them in a certain order or even why a certain technique is used. It takes cooking from a mysterious art form to a science that you can understand and therefore replicate.
They also test different methods and ingredients for the same recipe so that you don't have to experiment and experience disasters. They also give you tips, tricks, and ingredient substitutions.
It's full color and add-free!
Zinio user tips:
- All issues of this magazine or any others in the collection are available for checkout at any time by clicking the Zinio Magazines link at left.
- New users must first create a login for Beauregard's collection of Zinio magazines, and then they must create an additional login for all Zinio magazines. The logins can be the same in both places! It's entirely up to you. The second login allows for all Zinio digital magazines from various sources (free from libraries, individual purchases, gift subscriptions, etc) to be viewed in one place.
- There are also free mobile apps so that users can take their magazines with them on the go!
If this magazine interests you, feel free to log in to Zinio and check it out. For a refresher on the the digital magazines we offer, read this list of Zinio Magazines for 2015.
We'll be back next Wednesday with a different Staff Pick.
